Stress Less

I hate seeing the people I love stressed out. In fact, seeing stressed people makes me feel stressed too! But nowadays it feels like everyone has so much going on that they’re stressed all the time. That’s why I’ve put together a list of some of my best tips and tricks for beating stress. That way, no matter what’s got you tense, you can start to live a more relaxing life.

Yoga—We spend all day going and going, and we seldom stop to take a break. Setting aside thirty minutes once a week to stretch and clear your head will have lasting calming effects on both your mental and physical health.

Meditation—Like yoga, meditation gives your brain the rest it needs to recharge and stay sharp. Make meditating a daily habit, even for just fifteen minutes each day, and you’ll start to feel calmer as a whole.

Exercise—Another great way to work off stress is to sweat it out at the gym. Most people don’t realize the physical effects stress can have on the body, such as backaches and headaches. So if you’re feeling tense, working out is a great way to work off all that physical stress.

Unplug Your Devices—I don’t know about you, but I look at screens all day long! So every now and then, I turn off my computer and put my phone away for an hour or two. It’s so freeing. You’d be surprised how much you don’t miss the stress and distractions your electronics cause.

Laugh A Little—Whether you’re watching your favorite comedy on Netflix or catching up with a good friend, laughing is a fun way to blow off steam.

Eat A Balanced Diet—Don’t get me wrong, I love a hamburger every now and then, but I’ve found that a well-balanced diet helps manage my stress. A healthy diet of fruits, vegetables, grains and proteins gives me more energy and helps keep my mind clear.

Cuddle With A Pet—Our furry friends love us just as much as we love them. In fact, studies show spending a little time with our pets each day is a great way to relieve both our stress and our pet’s stress. Talk about relaxing two birds with one stone!

So, if you’re feeling stressed out or if you’re looking for new ways to unwind and relax, I hope these tips help you. Have a stress-free day!
